Biblical Backgrounds for Biblical Theology
Sound Proof
- When the Apostle Paul
wrote to Timothy and Titus, he mentioned the importance of sound doctrine. By "sound," Paul simply means reliable,
accurate, faithful.
- If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the
sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, he is conceited
and understands nothing. (1Tim 6:3)
- What you have heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching,
with faith and love in Christ Jesus. Guard
the good deposit that was entrusted to you - guard it with the help of the
Holy Spirit who lives in us.
(2 Tim 1:13-14)
- He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been
taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those
who oppose it. (Titus 1:9)
- Therefore, rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound
in the faith and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the commands
of those who reject the truth. (Titus 1:13)
