Church growth. It's all the rage. From the suburbs of Chicago to the coast of Florida to the beaches of California, our fascination with church growth has exploded in the last 30 years. Struggling pastors salivate at what has happened in some of the more prominent mega-churches, and the most winsome proponents of the church growth movement have become the new evangelical glitterati. So how does all this growth talk stack up to what the Bible has to say about church growth and Christian discipleship? What counts as real growth in the church? Why is it important?
