Why is Growth in Godliness Important?
Growth in godliness is the only sure sign of spiritual life.
 Accurate Cognitive knowledge is no sure sign of spiritual
life.
- What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith
but he has not works? Can that faith save him?…You believe that God is one.
You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. But are you willing to
recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?…For just
as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead
(James 2: 14, 19-20, 26)
- A faith that does not grow in godly behavior is useless not
only for other people, but for our own salvation. After all, even demons
believe true things about God.
